BEAST & BEAST-R FAQ:
Q: What is the difference between the regular BEAST Kit and the BEAST-R?
A: The BEAST-R Kit includes different velocity stacks than the original kit. These stacks are optimized for top-end power. It also includes larger K&N air filters than the standard kit.
Q: What do you mean by "optimized for top-end power"? How is this different from the standard kit?
A: The original BEAST Kit is designed to deliver performance gains over the entire RPM range of your engine. The original BEAST Kit will provide power gains everywhere from idle up to redline. On the other hand, the BEAST-R Kit is designed for maximum top-end power. It does not deliver any additional power in the lower RPM ranges. However, the BEAST-R works even better than the standard kit at high RPM.
Here is a simple chart explaining the differences:
Performance Benefits
| RPM Range | BEAST | BEAST-R |
|---|---|---|
| Low | Moderate | Minimal |
| Medium | Moderate | Moderate |
| High | Moderate | High |
Basically, the BEAST-R Kit trades off low RPM power gains for a bigger peak gain at high RPM.
Q: Can I use the new K&N filters with my original BEAST Kit, or, can I use the new BEAST-R velocity stacks with my existing K&N Filters?
A: No. The original BEAST velocity stacks and the BEAST-R stacks are totally different sizes. You can't mix-and-match the filters and stacks. Furthermore, the filters supplied with the BEAST-R Kit are specially made to fit the BEAST-R stacks. Other filters just won't fit.
